Two compact SUVs can look alike on a spec sheet and feel very different once you sit inside. The 2027 Chevrolet Equinox and the gas-powered 2027 Nissan Rogue both seat five, both come with all-wheel drive on every trim and both tow up to 1,500 lbs (680 kg).
The bigger question is what you get without paying for the top trim. This guide matches the two trim by trim, and the answer is clear: the Equinox puts more of the equipment drivers use every day into every trim.
Base Trim vs Base Trim: Equinox LT and Rogue S
| Standard feature | 2027 Equinox LT | 2027 Rogue S |

| Driver display | 11-inch | 7-inch |
| Apple CarPlay and Android Auto | Wireless | Wired |
| Adaptive cruise control | Standard | Conventional cruise only |

| All-wheel drive | Standard | Standard |
Entry Level: Equinox LT vs Rogue S and SV Moonroof
The Equinox LT starts with the full tech package. You get the 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, an 11-inch driver display, wireless phone projection and 5G vehicle connectivity. The same screens appear on every Equinox, so the entry trim never feels like a stripped-down model.
The Rogue S uses an 8-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch driver display, four speakers and wired phone projection. Stepping up to the Rogue SV Moonroof adds adaptive cruise, ProPILOT Assist and a power liftgate, and the screens stay the same size.
On the Equinox LT, adaptive cruise is already standard, and wireless charging and the AutoSense power liftgate join through the available Convenience Package II.
Standard on every Equinox LT:
- Chevrolet Safety Assist, plus Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking and Rear Cross Traffic Braking
- Blind Zone Steering Assist and Reverse Automatic Braking
- Heated front seats, heated steering wheel and remote start
- 17-inch Grazen metallic machined-face aluminum wheels
Trail-Ready Trims: Equinox ACTIV vs Rogue Rock Creek

Both brands offer a rugged-looking trim on 235/65R17 all-terrain tires. The Equinox ACTIV pairs those tires with 17-inch Dark Android wheels and sueded microfibre seat trim. The Rogue Rock Creek answers with its own dark wheels and Hill Descent Control.
Inside, the gap opens again. The ACTIV includes the AutoSense power liftgate, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control and an 8-way power driver seat as standard.
The Rock Creek has no power liftgate or wireless charger, and it keeps the 8-inch touchscreen with wired phone projection. If you load gear after a weekend trip, the ACTIV is the trim that makes it easier.
Style Trims: Equinox RS vs Rogue Dark Armor
The Equinox RS wears 19-inch Carbon Flash metallic wheels, with 20-inch wheels optional. It adds a wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, high-gloss black mirror caps and Evotex seat trim. Wireless charging and the power liftgate are standard here too.
The Rogue Dark Armor also rides on 19-inch wheels and adds heated rear seats and a surround camera as standard. The RS offers heated rear outboard seats, ventilated front seats and driver memory through Convenience Package III, plus HD Surround Vision through the Safety and Technology Package.
The RS still keeps its own advantage: the 11.3-inch Google built-in screen and wireless phone projection. The Dark Armor goes without both.
Packages That Let You Add More
Every Equinox trim can grow with packages that keep the core tech in place:
- Safety and Technology Package: HD Surround Vision, Rear Camera Mirror with washer, fog lamps, Rear Pedestrian Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition
- Convenience Package III (ACTIV and RS): ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, driver memory and an 8-way power passenger seat
- Sun, Convenience and Technology Package (ACTIV and RS): dual-pane power sunroof plus the items above
On the Rogue, Google built-in, wireless phone projection, a wireless charger and the 12.3-inch screens are tied to the Platinum trim.
The Mechanical Basics
Every 2027 Equinox uses a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque, an 8-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive.
The Rogue’s 1.5L turbo 3-cylinder rates 201 hp and 225 lb-ft through a CVT. For towing a small utility trailer, both are rated at 1,500 lbs (680 kg).
The Equinox also measures wider at 1,902 mm and rides on a longer 2,730 mm wheelbase. Cargo space is 844 L behind the rear seats and 1,798 L with them folded.
The Equipment Verdict
Compare trim to trim and the pattern repeats. The Equinox gives every buyer the large Google built-in screen, wireless phone projection, adaptive cruise and Blind Zone Steering Assist.
The Rogue holds back its biggest screens and wireless features for the top trim. If standard equipment drives your decision, the 2027 Equinox is the SUV that delivers more of it.
