Importance of Regular Oil Changes

The importance of the LOF (lube, oil and filter change) can’t be overstated.  Consistent oil changes will remove excess dirt and moisture from your vehicle’s engine while keeping the right amount of lubricant to all the multiple moving engine parts.  This reduces wear and tear and keeps these parts cooler as a result of less friction. Oil absorbs dirt and moisture but can only absorb so much before it starts to breakdown, once this happens it leaves your engine open to excessive wear and excessive heat caused by more friction.

Here at Nurse Chevrolet Cadillac, we have added equipment to assist in the inspection process to give you piece of mind driving and to ensure that your vehicle is in top condition. By simply driving through the lane, our autonomous wheel alignment equipment and our tire tread depth checker provides instant results on the flight boards and at the same time texts them to you! These checks, with a comprehensive inspection, ensure your vehicle is operating at its highest level for care free driving.  See our webpage to see all the value-added service we provide in our Express Lane.

The regular oil and filter change sets the benchmark for your vehicle’s maintenance. Other services fall in line with the oil change. A couple of examples are the vehicle health check (VHC) which should be completed with every LOF and the tire rotation which is performed with every 2nd oil change. Performing the LOF with a vehicle health check inspection is said to be the cheapest insurance you can buy to keeping ahead of possible breakdowns or mechanical failure due to worn parts or leaks.
